Air Fryer Chicken Kabobs

Air fryer chicken kabobs are wholesome, nutritious and tasty dinner you're surely to love.

Ingredients

Always use organic quality ingredients you have access to. Here is what is in this air fryer chicken kabobs recipe.


Side note: Some call it red onion or purple onion. Either way it's a great option for this recipe.


Marinate the chicken

You want to set aside at least 15 minutes to marinate the chicken.



Marinate for at least 15 minutes, or you can marinate overnight, it will give the chicken more flavor.


Assembling air fryer chicken skewers

Note: Make sure your skewers fit in your air fryer before you begin preparing this recipe. If your air fryer did not come with skewers, you can purchase some skewers like these on Amazon My Cosori Air Fryer is 5.8 qt and is a generous size. (Amazon affiliate links).


Also, be mindful of chopping your veggies all around the same size, about an inch. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it will help with even cooking.


You can load them up however you wish, but I recommend alternating veggies with chicken. This recipe made 7 skewers for me, but this is up to you.


I definitely recommend cooking these in batches, as not to overcrowd your air fryer basket.




2.5 batches worked well for me. You can place the first batch on a plate and cover with foil as the second batch cooks.

I served mine with quinoa. However, any of the following with pair nicely...

  • Rice (wild or jasmine) with plant-based butter

  • Salad

  • Potato salad

  • Roasted sweet potatoes

Air Fryer Chicken Kabobs


Air fryer chicken skewers are a wholesome, nutritious and follows a whole-foods, plant based eating plan.

Ingredients

  • 16 oz boneless skinless chicken breast (or thighs) cut into 1 inch pieces

  • 1 tablespoon low sodium Tamari sauce

  • 1 teaspoon organic garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon organic ground ginger

  • 1 teaspoon organic chili powder

  • 1 tablespoon local honey

  • 1 medium green bell pepper cut into 1-inch pieces

  • 1 medium red bell pepper cut into 1-inch pieces (optional)

  • 1 medium yellow bell pepper cut into 1-inch pieces (optional)

  • 1 medium zucchini cut into 1-inch pieces

  • 1 small red onion cut into 1-inch pieces

  • Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

Marinate 1. Place the chicken into a medium size mixing bowl, drizzle with oil. 2. In a separate bowl, mix up the soy sauce, garlic, ginger, chili powder and honey. 3. Pour the sauce over the chicken and toss to coat. Let the chicken marinate for at least 15 minutes or overnight.

Assembly

  1. Lay out the veggies in rows, place the chicken and veggies on skewers rotating and layering chicken, then a few pieces of veggies, then repeat until you have filled up each skewer leaving about ½ inch on each end so you can easily handle them.

Cook Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F for 5 minutes

1. Place the skewer holder inside the air fryer basket. Lay the chicken and veggies skewers on top of the holder and spritz them with the organic extra virgin olive oil.

2. Once the internal temperature of the chicken has reached 165 degrees they are done. You may need to do this in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.

3. Serve the skewers over rice or enjoy with other sides, such as potatoes, green salad or pasta salad.
