Jennifer M.: "I visited Winteringham Fields yesterday, with my father. I had never visited before but had heard many glowing reports of both the food and the service offered. We went for lunch and opted for 3 courses from the lunchtime menu.
We were shown through to a small lounge area, of which there were several, for guests to peruse the menu. The menu was introduced to us and each dish was explained, so that we were fully aware of what each entailed. Whilst we made our choices, we were served with the first of 2 appetisers and pre lunch drinks.
We were shown through to the dining room and as we had opted for the earliest table that we could, at 12 for 12.30, we were the first in the dining room (by the time we had finished, the room was full). I was given a stool for my handbag (a nice touch)!
We were then served with another appetiser of tiger prawn, laksa sauce (I think) and fine crispy noodles. Again, it was delicious.
The food served to us during the course of our lunchtime experience was of a consistently very high standard. The flavours were exquisite and the food looked every bit as good as it tasted. Highlights for myself were the nicoise terrine that accompanied the red mullet in my main course and the pineapple frangipane with pineapple and basil sorbet and coconut foam.
Following the meal, we again retreated to one of the lounges for coffee and petit fours. These were another treat that I will remember for a long time.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food was divine, the staff were professional, knowledgable and yet very friendly and the overall experience was very memorable."
