The Side Door is set over two floors of a handsome Georgian building. It's a family run business - owners Kitty Rae and Julian Taylor have many years catering experience in Liverpool and London and ran a successful gastro pub in The Cotswolds before returning to the city where they had met in 2003.
We aim to bring our customers the best of traditional British and modern European dishes, using locally sourced produce whenever possible from suppliers such as Wirral butchers Edge and Sons and fishmongers Neve's of Fleetwood, who deliver fresh catches every day. Our beef is Dexter from Cheshire and our chicken and duck is from Johnson and Swarbrick in Goosnargh. Liverpool organic brewery supplies our bottled real ales and we are also planning to introduce some award winning organic wines to our comprehensive wine list.
Head chef Mick Robinson has been at The Side Door since 2004, training under previous owner Sean Millar. He and his team are dedicated to producing food of the highest quality which benefits the reputation that the restaurant has enjoyed for many years.
