An original tandoor is a fired clay oven used for cooking meats and baking breads across southern, western and central Asia. At Thani Moon all tandoori dishes on the menu are marinated in yoghurt with the addition of different mixes of freshly ground spices and fresh green herbs, giving each dish its own flavour.
Other styles of cooking on the menu include old favourites such as chicken tikka massala and lamb dopiaza as well as the house specialities offering watery delights such as the tiafila chilli bhuna and pangasisus garlic jalfrezi. The former, a dish featuring the tiafila, a fresh water Bangladeshi fish high in flavour is here prepared in a dry tomato sauce whilst the latter features a tender fillet of pangasius, a fresh water fish native to south and south eastern Asia, here cooked in a hot spicy sauce of green chillies, turmeric, garlic and ginger.
