Star of Asia is an Indian and Bangladeshi restaurant in the Clewer area of Windsor. It uses time-honoured methods of preparation to create both traditional favourites and eastern flavours with a western twist. Inside the restaurant is warm and welcoming, with a modern interior, low lighting and lots of comfortable seating. It’s a great venue for a get together with friends, a dinner with the family or a romantic meal for two.
All of the food at Star of Asia Clewer is made using freshly ground spices and the finest vegetables and meats. Dishes are homemade in style and served in big portions. Diners with a classic curry in mind won’t be disappointed. There are plenty of old favourites on the menu along with tandoori cooked meats and biryani dishes. Chef’s specials include the nihari curry, slow cooked with yoghurt, Kashmiri chillies, tomatoes and saffron. There’s also a delicious king prawn shorsher, Bangladeshi prawns in a delicate sauce of coconut milk and mustard seeds. There’s a compact children’s menu for little ones and lots of choice for vegetarians.
Star of Asia is less than ten minutes’ drive from Windsor town centre and within easy reach of Windsor Castle, the Theatre Royal and Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House. Ten minutes’ drive in the opposite direction, diners will find Legoland Windsor. For those driving to the restaurant, Star of Asia provides a number of parking spaces right outside and there is additional street parking around the corner.
