Russells Restaurant is located in one of the oldest buildings in Chelmsford. It’s a Grade II listed, timbered tithe barn which dates back to around the 14th century. Inside, the barn is an impressive space, with high vaulted ceilings, wooden beams and ambient lighting. The décor is traditional and there’s a welcoming lounge bar, perfect for an aperitif and some time to ponder the menu. Established back in 1989, Russells Restaurant Great Baddow has been serving delicious, classic cuisine for decades.
The menu is full of scrumptious traditional favourites that are refined modern touches. A famous staple can be seen in the 30-day aged beef tournedos rossini, which comes complete with a fried potato rosti, sauteed spinach and a wild mushroom jus, while a new addition to the menu in the wild boar and Chateaubriand is sure to enchant and makes for the perfect sharing option.
With menus that are able to adapt to accommodate dietary requirements and a separate menu for the smaller diners, which allows children to choose from grown up options like a 4oz fillet steak that is accompanied by a grilled mushroom & triple cooked fat chips, all are catered to at Russels. This alongside such delights as the classic chicken goujons with skinny fries, ensures that all tastes and appetites will be satisfied.
What's more, there is a great wine list that complements the food on offer and attentive staff are friendly without ever being intrusive, making it a fine spot from which to spend quality time with friends and family, particularly with the superb 51³Ô¹Ï discount on show.
